Question Answer
How do I find out the game schedule? Look at http://bysl.scoreline.net/ To  find your team, codes are:
first 2 numbers = age group
R (recreation) or C (competitive)
C (coed) or G (girls)
A/B (beachside)
What uniform color do the players wear? All games will be played in blue uniforms.
What does my child need for practice days? Your child should wear comfortable clothing for practice (i.e., athletic shorts, tshirt), have a water bottle for water breaks, shin guards/socks for protection (these are mandatory), cleats (optional) and a great attitude!

What if I need to cancel practice? Practice cancellation is up to the team coaches.  It can be for weather or if a group of kids have an activity and can't come or similar.  For instance, often we cancel for Ocean Breeze skate night and tell our team to all go and they love it, get exercise and support the school too!  We usually have 2 or 3 parents carpool the team and it is a ton of fun!
What if I need to cancel or reschedule a game? You will need to do the following:
Coordinate with the opposing team coach(es)

When do I pay referee fees? If your game is a home game, then you are responsible for paying the referee fees at the end of your game that day.  Away games are paid for by the opposing team's coach.  Questions regarding the amount for fees can be directed to Jennifer Gentzlinger This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. What to do if there is lightning in the area? There are lightning sensors at the fields and if lightning is within 2 miles they will alarm.  If you see lightning or the sensors go off you MUST clear the fields for safety always!  We personally will practice in mist or sprinkling rain but not pouring and never never never if lightning is a threat!
What to do if there is severe weather? The way we do it on our team is...the team parent looks at radar at www.weather.com and calls coach cell phone to let them know how it looks.  Once the team parent calls the coach, the coach decides if practice will be cancelled.  If so, the team parent works with the coach to call all parents to let them know and cell phones are best since many people don't check home machine until bedtime.  Just FYI on our team I have everyone's cell number and I tell them all to look for a text 30 minutes before practice...then if we need to cancel I send a quick group text which is much faster!  But...it is a coach/team decision and it is up to coach and team parent to call everyone or text.  I personally don't use email for same-day information because not everyone is online all the time.
Who locks the fields and turns off lights? IHBSC has coordinated for the fields to be unlocked daily by 4:45pm for us.  The gate will be closed and chained BUT the lock will be open.  If you arrive and find otherwise please call Barb 794-5600 and/or Susan 220-7579
What if the gates are locked and I can't get in? If you are the last team on the fields it is the team parent and coaches responsibility to make sure the shed is locked and that BOTH gates to the fields are locked for the night.  The timer for the field lights is set for 1 hour for every 1/4ish inch turn FYI.  If you are done for the night please turn the timer to the off position (make sure your headlights are on first :)  We have had gear stolen, equipment destroyed and even stolen cars damage fields and left there upside down!  PLEASE make sure you lock up and turn off if you are the last team out there!!!
What if someone (soccer) is on my reserved field? As you all know we do have a set practice schedule.  There is a copy posted in the shed for reference.  If someone is on the field at your scheduled time please be nice and let them know you have the field reserved.  That is usually all it takes.  If they are rude or refuse to leave please double check the posted schedule to make sure you are correct.  If so, please call Susan Keldsen 220-7579 and/or Barbara Guido 794-5600.  If you need to reserve field usage please let Kristi Askeland This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. What if someone (baseball) is on my reserved field? The website www.beachsidefields.com lists all soccer, baseball, and softball.  You can goto this site to verify who is actually scheduled for which field on which day.

Lost and found area? If the public works department find valuables (wallets, car keys, watches, etc), the items will be taken to the IHB Police Department and can be picked up there.  All other items (soccer equipment, cleats, balls, clothing, etc) will be placed at the IHB recreation center to be picked up.  If items are left for more than 2 weeks, the recreation center will take the items to Goodwill.
